Purpose and Passion
Once, I walked in darkness, and I was loyal to the world.
Now, I have encountered the one true living God.
I have seen Him and heard His voice, and I will forever be...
Loyal to Jesus!!!
Who is Jesus?
In the Biblical account of creation in the book of Genesis, it suggests that the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit - were there before the Earth was formed. We were created in "their" image. Just the same as God consists of 3 parts that work together as one, so are we; body, soul and spirit. Jesus was present with God the Father when He spoke everything that we see into existence. Many believe that the pre-incarnate Jesus also visited many people in the Old Testament, possibly appearing to Hagar, to Abraham and Moses, in the books of Daniel, and in Judges and Zechariah.
Over 2,000 years ago, God allowed a part of His Spirit to leave His throne in Heaven to walk on the earth as a man. He was fully God in Spirit, but He was also fully man, with a body, a soul and the Spirit of God living inside of Him. The soul consists of our mind, our will and our emotions. Jesus was born of a virgin named Mary, and his father Joseph, was a carpenter. Though He was tempted throughout His life, He never sinned. After he matured, He performed many miracles; He cast out demons, made the blind to see, the deaf to hear, and the lame to walk. He brought joy and peace to the brokenhearted and down trodden. He loved the unlovable.
The religious of that day persecuted Jesus and arrested Him because He threatened their control of the people and their social and economic gain. He had all of Heaven at his disposal - legions of angels - but He willingly chose to give himself up to be arrested and crucified. When he breathed His last, He went into Hell and defeated death and the grave. After 3 days, He rose from the grave and was seen by many; hundreds saw Him. Then, He ascended to Heaven, leaving a part of His Holy Spirit behind to dwell within men. And now He is at the right hand of the Father, forever making intercession for us, praying that we would find faith here on the earth.
Many are searching the earth to find meaning for their lives. We will never feel fulfilled and satisfied until we participate in the one thing we were created for; fellowship with God. God the Father sent His son Jesus to be a sacrifice for our sins so we could be reconciled to Him. All we have to do is ask Jesus to come in to our lives, our hearts, and to be Lord of our lives, our decisions, our motives and thoughts. If you have never asked Jesus into your heart, it is as easy as having a conversation with a friend. Just invite Him in. Ask Him to forgive you. The hard part begins as we strive to walk in His ways, even in the midst of the trials and struggles of this life. Becoming a Christian does not mean our life will be free of struggles. It only means we are not alone as we go through those things.
Many people in society today have been wounded by religious people, just as Jesus was in His time. However, there is a remnant of true lovers of God, who also love people. These believers are still doing the Great Commission that Christ commanded us to do; to preach the gospel to every nation, to heal the sick, and to cast out demons. So many in the world have turned away from God because they see no power, no miracles, no love, no truth in the "church." God desires that Christians around the world come to know Him in a deep and personal way, that they would be endued with power from Heaven, to set the captives free and bring healing to a dark and broken world.
The desire of my heart is to share who Jesus is through the music, paintings and teachings that God has inspired in me. I pray this website will bless and inspire you to chase after God with everything you are! God Bless you and Keep you!

Meet the Artist
Angela Gassaway is a Christian Songwriter, Prophetic Intercessor and Worship Leader, Homeschool Mom,
Author and Artist.
Angela was born and raised in Waco, TX. As a child, she sang solos in the baptist church where her mother took her. Her father was in a classic rock and country band, and she was surrounded by music. She started writing basic songs when she was in the 7th grade, and then began writing heavy metal songs in high school. Straying far away from God and church, she lived a party life style during her high school years and began to play in amateur metal bands. She enjoyed metal music such as Pantera, Slayer, Tool and Slipknot. She also won several art awards, and was commissioned to paint a mural that is still at the school today.
She was the singer in a prominent Waco metal band called Grimloc for 5 years, playing gigs all over Central Texas, until they disbanded in 2005. When the band broke up, she found herself in despair. Turning to God for a short season, she found temporary solace. Not yet willing to live a holy lifestyle, she returned to the life of drugs and alcohol.
She says, "God began speaking to me, and I knew I needed to quit the party life style and walk away from the metal band scene. I was stubborn and did not listen. I began falling even deeper into depression, despair and sin."
She attended McLennan Community College from 2000 to 2006, majoring in Commercial Music Songwriting, Performance, Audio Tech Recording, and Business Management. In 2006, a serious car accident left her disabled. Despite the injury, she booked bands from all over Texas. She was appointed the Texas Rock & Metal Union officer of booking, booked shows under the business name "Momentum Management," and helped coordinate an annual concert called "Rock Stock."
She then joined a band called Illuminate Dysphoria. Still addicted to the party life style, she began drinking more than she ever had before. Feeling lost and ashamed of how far away she had gotten from God, she began to feel convicted about the life style and choices she had been making.
She remembers, "I went to church for the first time in years, and it felt as if the preacher spoke directly to me. Within a month, I felt so convicted that I began to make changes in my life, including quitting the metal band, breaking off an unhealthy relationship, and conquering my addictions to drugs and alcohol through Christ, and Christ alone. I didn't have to go through rehab or a 12 step program like I had tried to do before. The Holy Spirit just came into my life and completely changed me. For the first time since I was a small child, I felt peace. I have been clean since August 25, 2007."
Very early in this journey with the Lord, she was consumed with sharing the Gospel to reach the lost. Falling completely in love with His Word, she began hearing God’s voice and receiving prophetic messages for people. She began to write Christian Acoustic songs, but did not share them outside of church family and friends. Her eyes were opened and she could see how prideful, selfish and depraved she had been in the metal bands. Though music was her passion, she focused more on Evangelism and God’s word, and began to let God transform her from the inside out. In December of 2008, she was released to share the songs God had been giving her. In 2009, she married her husband, Richard Gassaway, and started a family. They have 4 children.
Angela Gassaway currently leads worship at The Olive Branch Christian Fellowship in Waco, TX. She also preaches, teaches, writes and mentors. She has over 60 songs copy-written, and has recorded her first professional studio demo.
""When I returned to God as an adult, I was reminded of a promise I made to the Lord when I was a teen; to give my life to HIS ministry as a worship leader. It was more than a decade later until I began to walk in that calling. I finally embraced my purpose; to be a lover of God, to have an intimate relationship with Him, and to fellowship with Him in the secret place of prayer. I quickly fell in love with evangelism and intercession. I love the thrill of hearing God's voice, receiving dreams or visions from Him, and being allowed to prophecy in His name. But serving God is not just about public ministry. Its about spending time alone with God and enjoying the anointing of Jesus Christ. I love to lead worship and do all these things, but nothing thrills my soul like being in His presence and knowing that the God of all creation is in the room. Be a God chaser. Be a lover of His presence!!!"

What's
In
A
Name
During her death metal band days, Angela had the same email address for over a decade; Loyal to metal (loyaltometal@...). Death metal and Hard Rock music were her "life blood," so to speak. She felt as though she would not be able to live without that music. After she gave her life to Jesus in 2007, she quickly realized that everything had to change; even her email address. She changed it to Loyal to Jesus. Over the years, this became much more than an email; it became the name of her ministry and website.
